With the press of a button, this handheld device triggers a light signaling you don't want to be bothered, and sets your Slack status to 'Do Not Disturb'

Model for the 3D printed housing. The project was a quick prototype based off a discussion we had at a developer offsite for how to signal to others that you needed focus time.

Using applescript to activate DND in slack

Applescript / HID

The device sends the keystrokes necessary to quick launch a small applescript application which sets Slack as the active application, focuses on the message field, and types in the shortcut necessary to turn on your DND.
