How to convert vector text to a single path for CNC routing
Use auto trace and the centerline text plugin for inkscape to convert a font to a single path for use in CNC routers, laser cutters, etc.
Often, when CNC routing text for signs, you don't want to create an outlined font, but rather a single path for solid, routed text. This video shows you how to use a library called autotrace within Inkscape to create a single path from the calculated centerline of a raster text graphic for use in CNC routing and laser cutting within Mac OSX
